Fouta’ is a Berber name for a tribal piece of seamless clothing that is worn knotted. Today our Artisans clock into work at a warehouse filled with weaving looms. Here their perfected art of looming comes to life. Tightly woven foutas with rich hues are created into many styles. Women then complete the towel by hand applying the hand woven signature fringe. Workers in the Tunisia factory follow the work laws as in the United States. They clock in and out, have safety regulations to follow, are given breaks, lunch time. Their equivalent of our Social Security is taken out of the paycheck.
